Gregorio is a rustic and idealistic peasant who lives frustrated in his village Rosillas.

He proposes to recover for his family the waters from the old canal that were diverted by Colonel Iglesias who is a neighboring Argentine landowner, allied in plot with the mayor of the town for his own vine crops. In his journey Gregorio has to confront the communal negligence, corruption and socio-economic power of the elite, leaving aside the love for his little son Olegario.
